Finding Freedom in the Stillness: A Journey to Letting Go

Last week, in the quiet of the night, I found myself awake and restless, unable to fall back asleep. So, I decided to meditate.

As I sank deeper into the stillness, I felt myself being pulled into what seemed like another reality—one that was vivid and alive. And then, unexpectedly, I saw two people who had hurt me in the past, standing before me, embracing me with love and warmth. At first, I was shocked, but in that moment, I realized something profound: I was being given the chance to release a hurt that I had carried for so long, deep within my heart.

When I woke up, I was amazed by the depth of the experience. Two nights later, it happened again. I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep, and once again turned to meditation. This time, I found myself face-to-face with someone I had long held a grudge against—someone whose unkindness I had forgotten about, but whose energy I had unknowingly carried.

As we spoke in this very real dream-like state, I told him it was time to release the resentment I’d been holding, to let go of the past, forgive, and move forward. With each breath, I felt lighter, more at peace. I began to send love to not only the people who appeared in my meditation, but to others I may have forgotten about—those who I had unknowingly held onto negative feelings towards. I released the weight of resentment and hurt that no longer served me, and in doing so, I felt a profound sense of freedom.

We all carry burdens—whether from the past or present—and sometimes we don’t even realize how heavy they are until we choose to let them go. I invite you to take a moment, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Reflect on anyone who may have hurt you, or any lingering resentment you may be holding.

Understand that these hurts no longer serve your highest good. They are not yours to carry forever. You have the power and choice to release them and free yourself. Remember, forgiveness is not for the other person—it is for your peace, your freedom, and your happiness. You hold the power to create love, peace, and joy in your life. Let it begin by setting yourself free.
